A lawsuit filed Tuesday in Jasper County Circuit Court claims the City of Joplin's negligence in taking care of a sidewalk caused a woman to fall and suffer injuries.

The petition claims Amanda Stringer, a Jasper County resident, was injured in fall was caused by "heaved concrete in the damaged sidewalk resulting in Plaintiff violently striking the ground with her body causing the injuries, damages, and harms discussed herein."

The accident occurred at 411 South Moffett Avenue, according to the petition.
