Joplin man pleads guilty to federal meth charge

Damien Wyatt Dentis, 46, Joplin, pleaded guilty today in U. S. District Court in Springfield on a charge of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

Judge David P. Rush ordered a pre-sentence hearing. No date has been scheduled for sentencing.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the DEA and Newton County Sheriff's Office SWAT executed a search warrant December 18 at 4486 Harold Lane, Joplin, after investigators recorded multiple controlled buys of methamphetamine from Dentis between June and October 2025.
